The Obantoko Division of the Ogun State Police Command has arrested one Kehinde Makinde — popularly known as “Pastor Kenny” — for allegedly defrauding unsuspecting victims under the guise of organising a pilgrimage to Jerusalem.
The Scam That Shook the Congregation
Nigerians are no strangers to the painful reality of individuals who cloak themselves in religious garments to exploit the faith of innocent people. This latest case from Ogun State is yet another reminder that not every person carrying a Bible and wearing a collar is truly called by God.
According to police sources, the suspect posed as a legitimate pastor and convinced members of his congregation — and possibly others — to part with their hard-earned money, promising them a life-changing trip to the Holy Land in Jerusalem.
