Nigeria’s bold and unapologetic actress refuses to be silenced by keyboard warriors
Nollywood actress Moyo Lawal has once again shown that she is not one to take disrespect lying down, after she fired back at a man who attempted to sl*t-shame her on X (formerly Twitter).
The drama started when the screen diva took to her X page to share some fresh photos of herself, cheekily asking her followers whether they had missed her. Simple enough, right? Well, not for one particular man on the platform, who decided to quote-tweet her post with a shaming comment clearly designed to put her down.
But if this guy thought Moyo Lawal was going to quietly scroll past that nonsense, he clearly does not know who she is.
The actress, known for her fierce personality both on and off screen, wasted no time in responding and defending herself against the unsolicited attack. True to form, she refused to let the shade slide without addressing it head-on.
This is not the first time Moyo Lawal has had to deal with online trolls and body-shamers who seem to make it their full-time job to police what women post on social media. Many Nigerians have rallied behind her, pointing out the double standard that women constantly face online — where a man can post whatever he likes without scrutiny, but a woman sharing her own photos suddenly becomes an invitation for insults.
Moyo Lawal continues to stand her ground, unbothered and unapologetic. And honestly? We love to see it.
