The joyous atmosphere of Sallah celebration turned into mourning in Dangulbi community, Tureta Local Government Area of Sokoto State, as bandits launched a deadly attack that claimed no fewer than 17 lives, including seven visitors who had come to celebrate the festive period with their loved ones.
Attack Shatters Sallah Festivities
Residents of the community have been thrown into grief following the brutal assault on what should have been a time of joy and family reunion. The seven Sallah visitors who travelled to the area to mark the Islamic festival with relatives and friends were among those who paid the ultimate price.
The remaining 10 victims were members of the host community, who had welcomed their guests with open arms, only for the celebration to end in tragedy.
