Summary: Media personality Dele Momodu has stirred the pot online after claiming that the Yoruba people themselves are President Tinubu’s harshest critics — and he came with receipts.**
If you thought the loudest voices against President Bola Tinubu were coming from the North or the Southeast, think again. Veteran media personality and political commentator Dele Momodu* has dropped a bombshell assertion that is already generating serious buzz online — the Yoruba people, Tinubu’s own kinsmen, are actually his *fiercest critics.
Momodu made this bold claim on his Instagram page, and he did not come empty-handed. He backed it up with a video featuring a Southwest woman who was openly and passionately opposing Tinubu’s re-election bid — no sugarcoating, no diplomatic language, just raw, unfiltered opposition from someone who shares the President’s own ethnic roots.

Why This Statement Is Turning Heads
In Nigerian politics, loyalty along ethnic and regional lines is almost taken for granted. So when a prominent figure like Momodu — himself a Yoruba man with deep political connections — steps forward to say that the criticism from within is louder than the noise from outside, e dey make sense to pause and reflect.
The viral video attached to his post only added more fuel to the fire, showing that dissatisfaction with the Tinubu administration is not just a “them vs. us” affair — it is very much a conversation happening at the grassroots level in the Southwest itself.

The Bigger Picture
This development speaks to a growing pattern across Nigeria — citizens are increasingly holding their leaders accountable regardless of where they come from. The days of “my brother, right or wrong” politics may slowly be giving way to a more issues-based conversation among Nigerian voters.
Whether you support Tinubu or not, one thing is clear: 2027 is going to be very interesting.
