Our very own Victor Osimhen is on the verge of etching his name permanently into Turkish football history as he closes in on Galatasaray’s all-time goalscoring record for foreign players.
If you needed any more proof that Victor Osimhen is built different, here it is — the Super Eagles striker is now within touching distance of becoming Galatasaray’s greatest foreign goalscorer of all time.
Yes, you read that correctly. Not just one of the best. The best. Ever. Among every foreign player to have ever pulled on that iconic yellow and red jersey.
From Lagos to Istanbul — The Osimhen Story Continues
Since joining the Turkish giants on loan from Napoli, Osimhen has been nothing short of a force of nature in the Süper Lig. Game after game, the boy from Lagos has been doing what he does best — scoring goals, causing defenders nightmares, and making Nigerians proud from the comfort of our sofas.
His performances have been so impressive that he is now closing in on a record that has stood for years, and the entire Galatasaray faithful are watching in excitement as he edges closer with every match.
Why This Record Matters
This is not just about personal glory. When a Nigerian stands on the brink of making history in a major European football club, it speaks volumes about the talent this country produces. From the streets of Lagos, Kano, and Port Harcourt, we keep churning out world-class players who go on to dominate on the biggest stages.
Osimhen has already proven himself at the highest level — tearing apart Serie A defenses at Napoli and winning the Italian league title. Now, he is doing it all over again in Turkey, reminding the whole world that his quality is no fluke.
The Record Is Within Reach
With his current form, it is only a matter of time before Osimhen officially claims the record. Every goal brings him one step closer, and if there is one thing we know about this young man, it is that he does not slow down once he has a target in his sights.
As Nigerians, let us continue to rally behind our own. Whether you are watching from Abuja, Enugu, or streaming from a viewing centre somewhere in Onitsha, make sure you tune in — because history is about to be made.
Osimhen is not just playing football. He is writing his legacy — and ours too.
