Our Super Falcons are not joking this qualification cycle — they’ve booked their spot in the third round of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games qualifiers in style, and now Morocco stands between them and the next stage.
Nigeria’s Super Falcons have shown the rest of Africa that they mean serious business, securing a commanding 7-0 aggregate victory to cruise into the third round of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games qualifiers. The girls did not come to play — and the scoreline says everything you need to know.
A Statement of Intent
Seven goals. Zero conceded. If that doesn’t tell you the Super Falcons are hungry for Olympic glory, then nothing will. This kind of dominant performance is the sort of result that sends a message loud and clear across the continent — Nigeria is coming, and they are not here to make up the numbers.
The aggregate demolition has set the stage for what promises to be a fascinating third-round clash against Morocco, a side that has been growing in stature on the African women’s football scene in recent years.
The Morocco Test
Morocco will be no pushover. The North African side has been investing heavily in their women’s football setup, and they will fancy their chances against any opposition. But if the Super Falcons carry this kind of form and firepower into the third round, it is hard to see anyone stopping them.
Nigerian football fans know all too well the heartbreak of near-misses on the continental and global stage. This time around, there is genuine reason for optimism — the team looks sharp, clinical, and determined.
Road to Los Angeles 2028
The 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles represents a massive opportunity for the Super Falcons to restore Nigeria’s pride on the global women’s football stage. Qualifying would not just be a massive achievement — it would signal a new era for women’s football in the country.
As the third round fixture against Morocco approaches, all eyes will be on the Super Falcons to deliver. Nigerians everywhere will be watching, praying, and cheering them on.
