A young man in Suleja has found himself in the grip of the law after allegedly taking to TikTok to threaten voters who refuse to support a particular politician — and Nigerians are saying it is long overdue.
The Niger State Police Command has arrested 23-year-old Alhassan Hussani following the circulation of a TikTok video in which he allegedly threatened members of the public in Suleja with violence over their voting choices.
What Happened?
According to the police spokesperson for the Niger State Command, the suspect was picked up after the threatening video went viral online, causing serious concern among residents of Suleja — a bustling town in Niger State, just a stone’s throw from Abuja.
In the video, Hussani allegedly made dangerous threats targeting anyone who refused to cast their vote for a specific politician, a move that many Nigerians have condemned as a brazen attempt to use fear and intimidation to manipulate the democratic process.
