A little girl needs your help — and all it takes is sharing this post.
The Edo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development is calling on well-meaning Nigerians to come forward with any information that could help reunite a two-year-old girl with her family — after the toddler was found abandoned at Ramat Park in Benin City.
What Happened?
The innocent little girl, who is estimated to be around two years of age, was discovered alone at one of Edo State’s busy motor parks — Ramat Park. Anyone who has ever been to a Nigerian motor park knows how chaotic and overwhelming such places can be, making the discovery of an unaccompanied toddler all the more heartbreaking.
As of now, no one has come forward to claim the child, and her identity — including her name, where she is from, and who her parents or guardians are — remains completely unknown.
Government Steps In
The Edo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development has taken the child into care while the search for her family continues. The ministry is now reaching out to the public, appealing to anyone who may recognise the little girl or have useful information to please come forward.
In Nigeria, our communities have always been our strongest safety net. From the popular saying, “It takes a village to raise a child,” to the everyday reality of neighbours looking out for one another, we have never been a people who turn away from those in need — especially not a helpless toddler.

A Child Deserves to Be Found
Every child deserves love, safety, and a family. Whether this little girl was abandoned out of desperation, poverty, or circumstances we may never fully understand, what matters most right now is that she is safe — and that she gets the chance to grow up knowing where she belongs.
To any mother, father, aunty, uncle, or neighbour who might know this child — please speak up. There is no judgment here, only the urgent need to do right by an innocent two-year-old who cannot speak for herself.
