A 31-year-old American father has been arrested after he allegedly took matters into his own hands — creating a fake TikTok profile to impersonate his 11-year-old daughter and lure the man he suspected of defiling her, before shooting him.

Malik Chandler, a father from Grove City, Ohio in the United States, could not wait for the justice system to do its work. When he suspected that a certain man had sexually assaulted his young daughter, this papa bear decided to set a trap — the kind that would make even Nollywood scriptwriters pause and take notes.
How It All Went Down
According to reports, Chandler, 31, disguised himself online by posing as his 11-year-old daughter on TikTok. Using the account, he allegedly reached out to the suspected r@pist, lured him to a location, and when the man showed up — Chandler shot him.
The suspected attacker survived the shooting, and law enforcement authorities in Ohio subsequently arrested Chandler for the attack.
A Father’s Rage vs. The Law
This case raises a conversation that many Nigerians will find deeply familiar. In a country where survivors of sexual assault often face painfully slow judicial processes, victim-blaming, and cases that drag on for years without resolution, the temptation for families to seek justice on their own terms is very real.
Many Nigerian parents reading this will understand — even if they don’t fully endorse — the kind of volcanic anger that would drive a father to such extremes. The thought of someone violating your child, your own blood, is enough to make any parent lose their composure entirely.
