Summary: Political analyst Anthony Kila has been shown the door by ARISE News following explosive allegations that he falsified his academic qualifications. Here’s everything you need to know.
It is no longer business as usual for popular political analyst Anthony Kila, as ARISE News has officially severed ties with him following damning allegations that he forged his academic credentials.
The television network, known for its hard-hitting political coverage and no-nonsense journalism, wasted no time distancing itself from the analyst once the allegations began making the rounds. In a move that has since sparked conversations across Nigerian social media and political circles, ARISE News confirmed his exit from the station.
What Exactly Happened?
Kila, who had become a familiar face on Nigerian television screens — particularly during election cycles and political analyses — now finds himself at the centre of a certificate forgery controversy. The allegations suggest that he may have misrepresented his academic qualifications, a claim that strikes at the very heart of his credibility as a public intellectual.
ARISE News, apparently unwilling to have its reputation dragged into the mud, moved swiftly to drop the analyst from its roster.
Why This Matters to Nigerians
Certificate forgery is not a new scandal in Nigeria — from politicians to professionals, the country has seen its fair share of credential falsification cases. However, when it involves someone who regularly appears on national television to educate and inform the public on sensitive political matters, the stakes become even higher.
Nigerians trust their analysts to speak with authority and integrity. If the foundation of that authority — academic qualifications — turns out to be questionable, it raises serious concerns about the information that has been presented to millions of viewers over the years.
As the story continues to develop, many are watching closely to see whether Kila will respond publicly to the allegations or if further details will emerge.
