Summary: Nigerian activist Detoun Onajobi sparks a massive online debate after posting a video of herself worshipping God in the shower. Is it a pure act of faith or just for social media attention?

Ah, the internet! Just when you think you’ve seen it all, somebody will come and drop another gbas gbos that will have everyone talking for days.

This time, the person shaking the table is popular activist, Detoun Onajobi. On Sunday, she decided to share a very… unique worship session with her followers. Mama posted a video of herself taking a shower.

In the clip wey she post, you can see her back view as the shower water is just pouring on her body. But this wasn’t just any regular bath o. Detoun was deep in the spirit, worshipping God with a song playing in the background.

As you can already guess, as soon as that video hit the timeline, Omo! The internet scattered. People’s comments started flying left, right, and centre. The whole thing has divided people into two major camps:

Camp A: “Leave Her Alone, It’s Her Worship!”

On one side, you have people asking, “What is the big deal, abeg?” They believe it’s a beautiful moment of worship between her and her God. Their argument is: if she feels comfortable sharing it, who are we to judge? Some are even praising her for being free and unashamed in her worship. For them, it’s her body, her page, and her relationship with God.

Camp B: “Must You Post Everything Online?”

Then you have the other camp, and these ones are not finding it funny at all. They are asking questions like, “Must you record and post everything online?” For them, an intimate moment like showering and worshipping God should be kept private. They feel it’s unnecessary and looks like she’s just seeking attention or “doing it for the ‘gram'”.

Na wa o! The matter is serious. Is it a genuine act of worship that we shouldn’t judge, or is it a case of doing too much for social media validation? The jury is still out on this one.

What do you think? Where do you stand on this matter? Drop your two kobo in the comments below
