A shocking incident in Ijegun, Alimosho has left residents demanding justice after a woman allegedly attacked a teenager and his mother with a sharp object.
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a woman following allegations that she brutally stabbed a 16-year-old boy multiple times in Amosu Street, Ijegun, located in the Alimosho Local Government Area. The disturbing incident, which occurred on Thursday evening, February 26, 2026, has sparked widespread outrage on social media.
The Incident
According to Febechi, the victim’s cousin who broke the news via her X (formerly Twitter) handle, the attack happened after the teenage boy attempted to correct the suspect’s child. What should have been a simple neighborhood interaction quickly escalated into a violent confrontation.
“I am heateddd!!! A grown woman st@bbed my 16 y/o brother in multiple places because he tried to correct her child, then stabbed his mum when she tried to confront her,” Febechi wrote in her viral post. “Please, I need help getting justice for him.”
The graphic images she shared showed the severity of the attack: three deep cuts on the right side of the boy’s face, including one dangerously close to his eye, three severe wounds on the right side of his chest near the shoulder, and another gash on his forearm. Blood was visible across the victim’s body, painting a disturbing picture of the assault.
What Really Happened?
According to Febechi’s account, the teenage boy had simply told the suspect’s child to go inside after noticing the younger child had been playing outside for too long. As neighbors, the boy was merely looking out for the smaller children in the area, the way an older sibling would.
“He’s a quiet, gentle boy. He no sabi street way at all,” Febechi explained. “All he did was tell her child to go inside because the child played outside for too long. Next thing, she starts attacking him, asking why he was talking to her child.”
When the boy’s mother tried to intervene and confront the woman about the attack, she too was reportedly stabbed.

Febechi’s initial posts expressed frustration with what she perceived as a delayed police response. According to her, the police unit in their area initially said they couldn’t make any arrests that evening and would have to wait until the following morning.
“Who knows if she’ll run away tonight?! I am so pissed that I can’t do anything, omg,” she wrote, tagging both @PoliceNG and @LagosOSVA in her appeal for help.
Her frustration resonated with many Nigerians on social media who questioned why someone would resort to such extreme violence over a minor issue. “Why would someone st@b you when confronting a child? Wetin do cane or koboko?” she asked, echoing the bewilderment many felt.

Despite the anger and pain caused by the incident, Febechi confirmed that the boy’s parents and extended family members had resolved to pursue justice through proper legal channels rather than taking matters into their own hands.
“My older family members and the boy’s parents want to handle this legally,” she stated, demonstrating remarkable restraint in a situation where emotions were understandably running high.
Police Confirm Arrest and Treatment
In a welcome development, the Lagos State Police Command confirmed to PUNCH on Sunday that the suspect had indeed been arrested and the teenage victim was receiving medical treatment.
“The post was engaged, and they were advised to report at the nearest police station, which they did. The boy is receiving treatment at the hospital, and the suspect is presently in police custody,” a police spokesperson stated.
