If you dey for Kano and you think say you fit dey cover your car number plate like say na VIP you be, omo, you better think again! The Kano State Police Command has sent a clear message: dem no come play at all.
Na so the police launch a special operation to clamp down on drivers who are either moving around with no number plate or using all sorts of tricks to hide it. And the operation yield fruit, no be small. A total of 123 people have been arrested for this exact offence.
Why the Police Don Vex?
According to the police, this isn’t just about fashion or trying to form “big man”. They are taking this matter seriously because criminals, especially kidnappers and “one-chance” operators, often use vehicles without number plates to carry out their evil plans. This makes it difficult to trace them after they have committed a crime.
So, for the safety and security of everybody in the state, the police have decided to tackle this issue head-on. The people arrested were caught doing the following:
* Driving vehicles with no registration number at all.
* Covering their number plates.
* Using tinted or plastic covers to make the plate unreadable.

But wait oo, the story gets more interesting. As the police were carrying out this operation, it seems they stumbled on something bigger than just number plate violations.
During the stop-and-search, the police recovered a pistol. Yes, you heard that right, a whole firearm! This just goes to show that the police were right all along. Sometimes, the person hiding their number plate is also hiding something much more dangerous.
