Borno state, Nigeria has once again been struck by the devastating terrorism of Boko Haram and ISWAP, as gunmen targeted a secondary school in the town of Lassa, Askira/Uba Local Government Area.
On the morning of June 29th, the armed group stormed the Government Day Secondary School, where students were sitting their NECO exams. In the horrific attack, a teacher was k!lled and an unconfirmed number of students were abducted.
This latest assault is a tragic reminder of the ongoing security crisis that has plagued the northeastern region of Nigeria for over a decade. Boko Haram and its splinter faction ISWAP have wreaked havoc, targeting innocent civilians, schools, and other soft targets in their campaign of violence and extremism.
