A brave and dedicated soldier and member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) made the ultimate sacrifice in a heroic effort to rescue 10 National Examinations Council (NECO) candidates and teachers who were abducted by suspected ISWAP terrorists in Borno State.
The incident occurred during an attack on the Lassa community in the Askira/Uba local government area. Troops from Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) swiftly responded to the attack and were able to safely recover the abducted students and teachers.
However, the operation was not without its tragic toll, as a gallant soldier and CJTF member lost their life while defending their community and ensuring the safe return of the captives. Their bravery and commitment to protecting innocent lives in the face of terrorist threats is a testament to the sacrifices made by Nigeria’s security personnel in the ongoing fight against insurgency.
