Summary: NSCDC recovers bullet-riddled vehicle linked to N10 million armed robbery in Minna. Blood stains suggest robbers sustained injuries during or after the Friday attack at Iya Femi Restaurant.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Niger State has made a major breakthrough in the investigation of a brazen daylight robbery that shocked residents of Minna last Friday.
Security operatives have recovered an abandoned vehicle believed to belong to the armed robbers who attacked and robbed a bank customer of over N10 million at a popular restaurant in the state capital.
The Robbery Incident
The robbery, which took place at Iya Femi Restaurant along Shiroro Road on Friday afternoon, March 6th, 2026, sent shockwaves through Minna. According to reports, the armed criminals had trailed their victim from a bank where he had just withdrawn more than N10 million.
In a statement released on Saturday by the command’s spokesperson, DSC Abubakar M.R, the NSCDC revealed that operatives from Operation Flush discovered the suspects’ vehicle along the Three Arms Zone Bypass in Minna.
Blood Trails and Bullet Holes: Evidence of Gunfight
The recovered vehicle paints a dramatic picture of what may have transpired during or after the robbery. According to the NSCDC spokesman, the car was “riddled with bullet holes, with visible traces of blood” suspected to belong to the armed robbers.
This discovery suggests that the criminals may have sustained serious injuries either during a confrontation with security forces or while making their escape from the scene of the crime.
The statement from the NSCDC read in part: “Following the unfortunate armed robbery incident that occurred at Iya Femi Restaurant, Minna on Friday, 6th March, 2026, operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Niger State Command, under Operation Flush, have made a significant discovery connected to the incident.”
Swift Response by Security Agencies
Acting on credible intelligence and a tip-off from security personnel stationed within the Three Arms Zone area, NSCDC operatives moved swiftly on Saturday morning, around 8:30 am, to secure the abandoned vehicle.
The vehicle has since been taken into custody, and preliminary investigations have commenced to unravel the full circumstances of the incident and identify all those involved in the criminal operation.
Inter-Agency Collaboration in Full Swing
In keeping with established protocols for inter-agency cooperation, the NSCDC has already contacted the Nigerian Police Force to take over the case for a more comprehensive investigation. This collaboration aims to ensure that the suspects are tracked down, arrested, and brought to face the full wrath of the law.
The Commandant of NSCDC Niger State Command, Suberu Siyaka Aniviye, reaffirmed the corps’ unwavering commitment to working with other security agencies to protect lives and property across Niger State.
Call for Public Cooperation
The security agency has appealed to members of the public to continue providing useful and timely information that can assist in the fight against crime in the state.
“The NSCDC Niger State Command reiterates its commitment to supporting other security agencies in ensuring the safety of lives and property across the state, while also urging members of the public to continue providing useful and timely information that can assist security agencies in combating crime,” the statement emphasized.
The command promised to provide further updates as the investigation progresses.
