Summary: Armed bandits have kidnapped a woman, Gloria, and her one-year-old child in Kachia LGA, Kaduna State, marking the second attack on the community in 10 days.
The residents of Ungwan Tama community in Kwaturu Ward, Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, are living in fear following a fresh bandit attack that led to the abduction of a nursing mother and her baby.
According to reports, the gunmen stormed the community in the early hours of March 4, 2026, around 1:30 am, and whisked away Gloria, a married woman, her one-year-old baby girl, and a 15-year-old boy to an unknown location.
Three Others Injured in the Midnight Raid
Community leader, Speaker Jethro Daniel, who confirmed the incident on Facebook, revealed that three persons sustained injuries during the brazen attack.
“During the attack, 3 persons sustained injuries while a married woman, a baby girl of 1 year, and a 15 years boy were kidnapped,” he wrote.
Expressing his shock and heartbreak, Daniel condemned the cruelty of the attackers, particularly their decision to abduct an innocent one-year-old child.
“You can see how heartless these people can be, kidnapping a one-year-old baby. Oh God,” he lamented.
Second Attack in 10 Days
What makes this incident even more disturbing is that it marks the second bandit attack on Ungwan Tama community within just 10 days, raising serious questions about the security situation in the area.
“This attack is the second one in 10 days, in that same Angwan Tama community,” Daniel stated, calling on Nigerians to pray for the community and its leaders.
“Please pray for Ungwan Tama, pray for Kachia, pray for Kachia people, pray for Kachia leaders,” he pleaded.
Family Members Confirm Saturday Night Attack
Bridget Peter, the sister of the abducted woman, Gloria, also confirmed the incident and disclosed that bandits had struck the same community again on Saturday night, March 7, further intensifying the climate of fear among residents.
The repeated attacks have left the people of Kachia LGA traumatized, with many calling on the Kaduna State Government and security agencies to urgently deploy more personnel and resources to protect lives and property in the area.
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official statement from the Kaduna State Police Command or security operatives regarding efforts to rescue the victims or apprehend the perpetrators.
The safety of Gloria, her baby, and the teenage boy remains uncertain, as their families anxiously await their safe return.
