The Bauchi State Police Command has apprehended a 48-year-old man identified as Bala Mato for allegedly committing an unnatural offence against a teenage boy in Burra, Ningi Local Government Area of the state.
The disturbing incident, which has sent shockwaves through the community, was disclosed by the command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, in a statement released on Saturday, March 7, 2026.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, the suspect allegedly deceived and lured the 15-year-old victim into a room where he sexually assaulted him.

The statement revealed that one Danalami Umar, a 45-year-old resident of Bakin Kasuwa, Burra, reported the case at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Burra on February 25, 2026.
“On 25th February, 2026, one Danalami Umar, 45 years old of Bakin Kasuwa, Burra, reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Burra that on 17th February, 2026, at about 2000hrs (8:00 PM), a 15-year-old teenager was deceitfully lured by Bala Mato ‘m’ aged 48 years, who allegedly committed an unnatural offence against him in a room,” the police spokesperson stated.
Swift Police Response
Following the report, operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command swiftly moved into action and arrested the suspect.
The victim was immediately taken to General Hospital Burra for medical examination to ascertain the extent of the assault and gather evidence for prosecution.
